breakaway booth (amazon game studios)
Our booth was divided into multiple areas, a tournament play, a casual play, mobile devices, App store stage.
For the game, attendees could play in our 4v4 tournament demo area, where Team A would face off against team B, and Team C would face off against Team D. The winners of these two matches would advance to play on our live streamed “Play like a Pro” stage, where they would be treated like esports professional gamers. Each team would have a live on stage and stream introductions with full photo/graphic support and spectacle fanfare.
Arena style seating in the booth gave attendees a place to take a little time off their feet and cheer on the two competing teams. Our outward isle facing Caster desk/booth, really drew people into the booth to see what was going on, and from the aisle, looked like the true Twitch stream that the at home audience could see.
Attendees who didn’t want to play in a tournament style advance to stage game, could elect to play in our 16 station casual play area. Here also, we had 4 self-streaming stations, where both general attendees and scheduled streamers could come and play the game while streaming to their channel live from the convention floor. Each of these stations were set up with self-run production capabilities, wide and close camera shots, as well as full game play and PIP modes.
Other areas of the booth featured an Alexa demonstration booth, Fire TV room, and a highlighted devices area where attendees could handle and play games on Amazon based devices.

Lastly, on the App store stage, we ran a full program of interviews and streamer gameplay on selected devices. Six to eight hours of daily content kept audiences engaged at GamesCom as well as at home. The segments of the broadcast featuring streamers proved to be excellent attraction pieces driving traffic to the booth.
Overhead signage made our booth visible from all corners of the hall, and our “Scan To Buy” aisle facing walls, allowed attendees to scan a piece of gear that they had just played with in the booth, to purchase. These purchases would be waiting for them at their homes when they returned from the show.
