Potluck 2020

showcasing the hidden gems of twitch

Potluck was a 70’s themed variety event, featuring the hidden gems of Twitch. Each week, a collection of talented streamers were brought to Potluck to showcase their talent on Crown Channel.

The idea behind Potluck was to have each streamer bring something unique to the table. Viewers were given a chance to discover communities on Twitch they may have never known existed.

Due to the travel restrictions and safe social distancing requirements surrounding Covid-19, A fully remote model production took place. An array of workspaces were assembled to create a virtual studio for guests to check in. Camera and audio feeds were routed to the main production switcher for final compositing before streaming out a complete show. Program return was also routed back to guests so they could see themselves within the context of the show.

Potluck featured 18 remote guests from all around the world, as well as two hosts, Lisa Malambri and Erik Griffin. Segments included live music performance, DIY projects, advanced makeup special effects, metalsmithing, and much more. Robson Baroli, Potluck’s house musician, played live music in-between segments on broadcast in real time from Brazil. Through our remote workflow, hosts and guests could communicate in real time, as if in the same room but sitting across the world from one another.
