TWITCH prime crown cup

FIFA19, LONDON / APEX LEGENDS, LAS VEGAS

For the second year in a row Twitch Prime turned to Siteline Productions to design and produce their Prime Day live event, The Twitch Prime Crown Cup. The event was twice as large as the previous year’s, spanned two continents, and culminated in a 10-hour live broadcast.

Prime Day’s first Crown Cup featured four teams playing EA’s FIFA 19 at the Gfinity Esports Arena in London, UK. Play began with a round robin format to determine seeding in the elimination rounds. Each team consisted of 4 celebrities. The show was hosted by Tom Deacan and Twitch streamer Castro. Ultimately, Team Rio (Rio Ferdinand) bested the other three teams to become the Crown Cup London winner.

We engineered a seamless transmission switch to provide one continuous broadcast on twitch.tv/twitchprime as we moved locations from London to Las Vegas for the second half of the Twitch Prime Crown Cup.

From the HyperX Esports Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, eight featured Twitch streamers began the day in custom server playing EA’s Apex Legends to determine tournament bracket placement and the draft order in which they would choose their celebrity partner. Teams of three advanced through the single elimination bracket until ultimately Jason Mews, Anthony Kongphan and their Twitch Prime member teammate took the day.
